Security and Privacy at RiceDrive
We design RiceDrive to help users manage cloud files with secure authorization, controlled access, and transparent task processing.
How RiceDrive Approaches Security
Our approach is built around giving users clear control over their cloud connections and transfer tasks.
How RiceDrive connects to your cloud accounts
Cloud Authorization
RiceDrive connects to supported cloud services through standard authorization flows whenever available. Users authorize access directly with the cloud provider — no cloud account passwords are shared with RiceDrive. This approach follows commonly used patterns for third-party app integration.
How files are handled during transfer
Data Transmission Security
Data transfer workflows are designed to use secure network communication to protect files during transmission. RiceDrive processes transfer tasks on the server side, moving files between cloud services without requiring a local device download.
How users manage connected accounts
User Access Control
Users retain control over which cloud accounts are connected. Authorization can be removed at any time through RiceDrive account settings or directly through the connected cloud provider. We do not retain cloud file content beyond what is needed to complete the requested task.
How RiceDrive tracks transfer activity
Task Logs and Transparency
Transfer and sync tasks include status information and logs so users can understand what happened during the process. Task logs show file counts, transfer results, and any errors encountered. This helps users verify task completion and troubleshoot issues if needed.
What Users Should Know Before Using RiceDrive
RiceDrive is a practical cloud management tool. We aim to be transparent about how it works and what users can expect.
Authorization-based access
RiceDrive connects via standard authorization — not by storing your cloud passwords.
User-controlled connections
You decide which cloud accounts to connect and can disconnect them at any time.
Task-based operation
RiceDrive operates when you create and run a task. Background tasks continue running until complete or cancelled.
Transparent logs
Each task produces a log so you can review what files were transferred and the result of each operation.
A Note on Our Language
We avoid exaggerated claims about security. RiceDrive is designed with security and privacy in mind, but like any online service, it operates within practical constraints.
We focus on practical, meaningful security practices: using authorization flows instead of passwords, giving users control over their connected accounts, and maintaining transparent task logs.

Security FAQ
Does RiceDrive require my cloud account password?
No. RiceDrive connects to supported cloud services through authorization flows whenever available. Users should not share their cloud account passwords directly.
Can I remove cloud authorization?
Yes. Users can remove or revoke cloud authorization when they no longer need to use a connected cloud account. This can be done through RiceDrive settings or through the cloud provider's own account settings.
Can I track transfer tasks?
Yes. RiceDrive provides task status and logs so users can understand the progress and result of transfer or sync tasks.
What data does RiceDrive access?
RiceDrive accesses only the cloud storage content needed to complete the transfer or sync task you configure. Access is scoped to what the authorization flow provides.
Is my data stored on RiceDrive servers after a transfer?
RiceDrive processes file transfers between your connected cloud accounts. We do not retain cloud file content beyond what is needed to complete the requested task.
